Watercolor Play
6:00:00 AM
You Will Need
- Watercolor paints (I used Luminarte H2O which have bits of mica in them which gives them a nice shimmer.)
- Water color Brush
- Water color paper (or a nice thick paper)
- Fine tipped ink pens such as a micron pen
- Gel Pens
This is a quick little creative play exercise. Simply take your watercolors, any type will do, and play with the color drips. I used mixture of actual drips and painted circles or orbs on mine. Once your watercolor splotches have dried (I used a hair dryer to save time) take a fine tipped ink pen or gel pen and doodle over you splotches. The result is colorful little whimsical designs.
This exercise is a fun way to de-stress and relax in a creative way without putting too much pressure on yourself for a final "product" or result. Just let go of control and have fun watching the colors drip and move on your page. When you are doodling try to let go of expectations and just create simple marks.
Give it a try, and if you feel like sharing your results post them to our Facebook group, Creative Clubhouse! I would love to see what you come up with!
