Are you interested in using your unique voice to help raise awareness for women's issues and raise money for some fabulous local charities here in Knoxville?

We, The Basement Community Art Studio, are hosting an art exhibition in conjunction with LOX Salon and possibly some other Old City Shops (Still working out the details on that). The show will be organized by Debi Campbell and is a sister show to the Nasty Woman Exhibition which launched in New York. The movement has now spread across the globe with sister shows popping up in across the world. The shows are all aimed at raising awareness and money in support of women's issues. For our Knoxville show we will be raising money for two wonderful organizations:

• The Knoxville Family Justice Center, offering assistance to women and families who are victims of domestic violence or sexual assault.
• Girls Rock Camp, a program dedicated to the empowerment of girls through artistic expression.

Other ways to be involved: 

Help us raise awareness and money for these awesome local organizations by contributing in one of the following ways.

• Come to the show June from 2nd-4th and purchase art.

.

• Attend the opening reception on Fri. June 2 from 6-10 at LOX and the Basement. There will be an art workshop for all ages at the Basement Community Art Studio. We will be making self empowerment boards read more about that here. Refreshments will be served!

• Make a cash donation at the opening event. Suggested $10 donation to participate in the art workshop. (Any donation is welcome though.)

• Make a donation through the Pay Pal link on the exhibit page here. Link for donations is beside the form to submit art about half way down the page.

• Make a donation through the Basement Community Art Studio here or in person. If you donate through the basement link please scroll all the way to the bottom of our online shop and select either the $10 donation button or you can fill in your own amount. Make sure that you are in the Nasty Woman Art Exhibition donations and not in our studio scholarship fund.
